Fairfield Litter Pick Saturday 23rd March 2024

After January’s whopper of a session, in which our 37 litter heroes braved the cold to collect a mind-blowing 14 bags of rubbish (5 recycling) from across Fairfield and the children’s playground, we’ll be back on Saturday 23 March (2-3pm) to see how clean we can get this popular park in the run up to Easter!

There are a couple of nationwide events that our next litter pick ties in rather nicely with next month, and which you might want to get even more further involved with. These are:

1. The Big Plastic Count (11-17 March), in which schools, households, businesses and community groups are invited to count their plastic waste for a week, plus
2. The Great British Spring Clean and Great Big School Clean (both 15-31 March), which is a great chance to help create a greener borough and make a local difference – something you’ll certainly be doing if you join us in Fairfield Park on 23 March!

As always at our bi-monthly events, we’ll have litter pickers to lend out and sweet treats for participants. Please help us spread the word with your neighbours, school friends or any other local groups so we can make the park as lovely as possible.
