The Ancient Market Place in Kingston has been home to a thriving market since the 1100s. Here is a round up of the old and the newer markets in and around the area.
Ancient Market Place
In Kingston town centre close to the river, the Ancient Market place has a vibrant food market on most days selling fruit, vegetable, fish and bread. The Market Place also serves up international food and plays host to entertainment throughout the year including music, dance and theatre. Open six days a week, Monday – Saturday, from 9am – 5pm
Market House in Market Place
Open daily,this is one of the few places where you can buy unique, locally produced ceramics, cards, artwork, clothing and vintage pieces. It’s on the ground floor of the Italian-styled Market House in the Ancient Market Place.

Kingston Antiques Market
The Kingston Antiques Centre which is at number 29 London Rd KT2 6ND near to the tumbling Telephone boxes. Over 80 dealers offer 2 floors of antique and vintage furniture, jewellery, clothes, mirrors, prints and more. There is a great little Polish cafe on the first floor.

Kempton Antiques Market
This colossus among markets with over 700 outdoor and indoor stalls selling antique furniture, clothes, jewellery, garden ephemera and collectables. Trade, public, interior designers and prop buyers turn up for this free event -second and last Tuesday of the month. 6.30 am to around mid-day. Check website for dates.
